The University for the Creative Arts (UCA) has a long history of working to raise the aspirations and attainment of young people in Kent and Medway who may not consider progression to Higher Education (HE) as a route to success.
Our outreach work in this region is via the Kent and Medway Progression Federation (KMPF). KMPF combines our University's self-funded outreach activities with additional funding from the Office for Students (OfS) through their Uni Connect programme, in partnership with 49 schools and three colleges.
As the creative specialist in the region, UCA promotes progression in creative arts, business and technology through a variety of activities, including workshops, talks and self sign-up events. In the KMPF network we work with young people in years 7 to 13 and those studying on further education (FE) courses.
Our aim is to promote social mobility by improving access to HE for young people from under-represented backgrounds.
Upcoming events
We want all young people to have the opportunity to explore their creative potential, learn new skills and make a difference. Our programme of self sign-up outreach events are designed to help young people do just that, as well as CPD opportunities for staff to support them along the way.
Opportunities for schools & colleges to participate
As well as our self sign-up events we have a variety of activities and opportunities to spark creative inspiration and allow young people in your school or college to discover more about the creative sector.
Opportunities for young people
In addition to the opportunities which are directly bookable by your school or college, we offer a range of free activities, events and resources that young people can access independently to find out more about creative pathways and careers.
Young people can find out more about our current range of opportunities on our student-facing webpage, Get Creative.
